CCSC actively undertakes projects that are related to the promotion and development of cultural heritage, and seeks for partnership or collaborative opportunities with relevant individuals, groups, or institutions, particularly in spaces where resources and opportunities are limited.

古代華服教材
先秦篇
近年內地和香港興起一股“中國古代服飾”風潮,每逢特別節日,學校和民間團體等都相繼舉辦穿著中國古代服飾活動。
為更好的讓學生瞭解中國悠久歷史和中華文化的博大精深。有見及此,在承真樓中國文化研究中心主持下,邀請樹仁大學區志堅和培道中學陳瑩瑩老師等,編修“中國古代服飾教材—先秦編”,本書是香港第一本以考古資料實物為核心來構建的教材,並以此為基礎進行服飾復原。
本書從認知﹑探究﹑體驗等多方面讓學生認識中國古代服飾的概況,使學生對於中華民族精神﹑歷史和文化有強烈的認同感。

Current Projects

Publication of Compilation of Excavated Chinese Censors
Date: June 2016-ongoing
Chinese Cultural Studies Center (CCSC) will be publishing a book on excavated Chinese censors.
Comprehensive studies of incense ware and paraphernalia from an archaeological point of view has been rare, and it is the project’s aim to produce a high-quality, academic publication that will be of significant value to the field of incense study. The book will be a catalogue of censers, containing high quality photos of the artifacts and archaeological line drawings, and will be the most thorough and systematic treatment of Chinese censers to date. Individual entries of significant censers or censers that have representative value will have more detailed written entries that will explore their importance. The book will also contain research papers related to the topic of incense and censers in China, written by invited academics. This publication will be the first of its kind in scope as well as purpose, and will be an important contribution to the study of the traditional use of incense in China.

Incense project: Publication of Song Hong Book of Incense (宋洪芻香譜) and Song Chen Book of Incense (宋陳敬香譜)
Date: January 2013-ongoing
Objective: In collaboration with Fudan
University, this project objective is to construct a critical and orthographically punctuated edition of the ancient texts Song Hong Book of Incense and Song Chen Book of Incense, by comprehensively cross-referencing and redacting available manuscripts. Notes and commentary of the texts will also be produced, as well as an English translation.

Lacquer Project
Projected Date of Commencement: January 2015 Objective: to revitalize innovation of design in Chinese lacquerware and increase the craft's viability and visibility through the sponsoring of creative collaboration between renowned designers and lacquer artisans. The focus will be on the display of traditional lacquer skills alongside modern uses or interpretations of lacquerware. Project will culminate in an exhibition and seminars displaying the products of the collaboration.
